UK widefit shoe shop

I have added a link to the Lymphedema Shoeguide. It is a UK shop with widefit shoes. It only ships within the UK and they are a bit pricey, but they have a large selection. www.widefitshoes.co.uk

I'd like to share this beautyful song with you. It's old now and they seldom play it on the radio anymore but I still like it. Have a listen.

  1. Hi

I can't comment on your shoe guide so I'll add my suggestion here. I found this company last year (http://www.thebootmakers.com/). They make knee-high boots with bespoke calf widths and more to the point agreed for a small supplement to make a pair for me in different widths. My right calf is about 10 cm bigger than my left. They ship internationally and I was very impressed with their customer service. In fact once they saw my measurements they suggested a different model from the one I had chosen because they thought I would find it easier to get on with a swollen ankle.
They're not cheap but for handmade boots it's not that bad really. And I live in Stockholm so to be able to have some knee-high boots for the winter was worth a lot to me, unike my first lympho winter when I was struggling with just trainers. Surprised I didn't get frostbite actually!

    1. Hello Hutch,
thanks for the tip about the bootshop! How I'd like a pair of boots made especially for my feet... You are right, they are quite pricey but a pair of boots like that would be an investment to last you for many years. Being able to wear a knee-length skirt again would be mindblowing! There is also a shop called Duoboots.

    2. PS: I will make sure the shoeguide is open for comments for the future.

    3. It's entirely possible it was just me being daft and not seeing the right place to comment. :)
Re Duoboots, I have heard people say they won't make the legs in different sizes. I've not tried them though.

    4. Hi Hutch,
it is true, I have contacted Duoboots asking them if they made boots in different sizes, but they don't. I take it the Bootmakers does? Wow, now I'm really hooked!

  2. Hello,

I came across this forum in google and thought you all might like to know about my dad's wide fitting shop, 'Design Shoes' in Harlesden NW10. He has been doing wide fitting shoes, boots and sandals for about 30 years there.

He now has a website you can purchase from www.wideshoes.co.uk. He is hoping to open a new shop in Wembley later this year which will specialise in wide shoes. Currently he goes up to a UK 10 in widths up to 6e.

I hope this information is useful to readers.
